If you can, you should make combat more intresting, like add new moves and/or make enemies wounds more realistic.
If possible make it look Blood Rayne style or something.

I've never played Bloodrayne but adding new moves means new animations which can't be done because of engine limitations. I'm not sure what you mean about wounds being more realistic, if you mean so when you hit enemies you see visible wounds, again engine limitations so I don't think thats possible either.

I agree the combat is a bit weak with Bloodlines, fortunately it has so many other great things that make up for it.

I understand

Another suggestion - i find it funny and dumb that when i crouch and move infront of enemy (guard or else, someone who'll start shooting when he sees you) with lights on, he dosnt see me, only when i stand he does.
I know that not every clan has invisibility power, but the game should be more realistic, like make a power that turns everyody around you blind or something for those clans who cant become invisible.

I see what you're saying. Well crounching VS. standing just signifies that the player is attempting to stay hidden. Unfortunately they didn't make the game more like Splinter Cell but I understand why. For now, crouch VS. stand will have to do.

The Sneaking feat is available to every PC, and is especially important for those without Obfuscate when staying hidden is necessary. I can't create a special blinding power but I can say some clans who don't have Obfuscate sometimes have powers that will help them in other ways. Take for instance the Assamites, they have a power called Silence of Death, which grants them a +2 bonus to sneaking when used.

Thank u for fast replies.

At least it should be much much more harder to crouch near guards, without been noticed. I remember i shot a window in the museum, jumped threw it, and after a second guard showed up, acting normal, like nothing happened.
After that i tried to shoot 5 times, only than theyve alerted. Maybe the alert should be sound when you break a window?
Another matter is that you cant break windows with a knife, or even an axe! like shooting is the only way

Actually you can break a window with a knife, fist, axe, really anything, you just have to either crouch on the window sill, or do a jump crouch attack move all at once. I know, it's pretty lame, again source engine limitations.

Making sneaking tougher is something that can be done, and I plan to do. I just need to figure out the distances that sneaking effects first, then test it. I agree that sneaking is too easy as is. I had sneaking level 5 and I could crouch walk right past a Hunter in the dark with no problems, she was alerted and looked around but couldn't see me and I could break her neck no problem. I was like hmm, may need to make the values a little tougher.

I still want someone with sneaking level 10 to be nearly invisible when they sneaking. Someone who spends the XP to get sneaking to 10 should be rewarded as so.

You're right, sneaking is really easy. Especially if it's supported by discipline use. With my Toreador, sneaking 5 or 6 and celerity 3, I could get into and out of the warehouse without anyone noticing me.

Making it possible to check your email from somplace else is a good idea. But it would mean you have to turn this place temporarily into your haven, and i don't know if that is possible.

Couldn't we just copy our computer entry from one map to the internet cafe map?

PostSubject: How about...   Thu Jun 03, 2010 1:56 pm

Creating body parts been cut from enemy when you hit with a blade? you just need to create the parts in the ground... and then, you could do models without arms, legs etc... and then when you hit with a blade and get great damage, the enemy's model is changed for the one without leg,arm etc... and then create a severed arm, leg in the ground...

and I was thinking about an head-shot system... well, actually you shoot about five .44 bullets in the head of a goddamn cop and it won't die... and I was thinking about a more realistic combat system... well, it would be good to make npcs die when it needs to die... you need to fire a hundred bullets in some npcs (like cops) to kill it...it would be more realistic if they die easer, as well as the PC character... and how about an vitality system, with penalities to the feats when you are injured...

You'd have to make one of the internet cafe computers into your haven pc, and i don't know if you can have two active terminals at once.

Ya Cad, I don't think it would be a problem, as long as the computer points to the proper hack info. If putting a haven computer in the internet cafe is something you guys want, I'm pretty sure I can do that.

The way you can make combat more interesting is to make it more difficult... Give everybody less health and more damage, thus making it more realistic... If everybody dies fast, including you, that would make the CAREFUL use of disciplines and the thought you put into leveling up your character a little more... credible.

Do you think it is possible to make stakes useful?

Useful? Yes, but no more useful than a knife. I'm sure we could make a stake handle similiar to the knife, but as far as a stake being able to immobile a Vampire? I don't think could be done. Sad

PostSubject: I was thinking of an unique combat system   Tue Jul 20, 2010 4:07 pm

And if every NPC's and the pc character had 70 health it would be an 10=1 system, each 10 points means 1 Pnp point... , like in the PnP, the weapons damage should be adjusted to the PnP game, and humans would have less health, 30, is the normal, and how about penalities for too much wounds, like in the PnP game? ... that would make combat much more interesting.

Ya know, if I wanted to play Bloodrayne, I'd play Bloodrayne. VtM (be it 1.2, 7.0, CE, CQ or TFN) is not about being a bad-ass butt-kicker (not to me, anyway). I like what Childe of Malkav is doing with CE and what Zer0Morph is doing with TFN, i.e., making the story more interesting and interactive. And I hope they keep their efforts focused on that.

Thanks Munster...

I think the reason I tend to play the "Bloodlines" style games over the "Devil May Cry" style is because of the immersive reality of what it is. DMC style games look Incredible, move Incredible, and have that instant WOW factor when you first see them, but once you invest several hours into it you realize that the game is just skin deep, there's nothing BUT looks.

Bloodlines style games may not look as pretty or move as pretty, but in the end they are attractive because of the depth of volume and mystery that continually draws you in. From the storyline, to the strategies, the character builds, and the replay value... Games like Bloodlines don't come around often and when they do it usually seizes a half century of my time, HAHA!

Credit where credit is due. alien I certainly wasn't knocking people who like games like Bloodrayne, though. That's just not my style any more (I burned my FPS engines out with Quake I and Duke Nukem 3D, that's how old I am, with a short revival for Half-life 1).

Replay value, yes. I think I enjoyed playing Half-life 1 twice, and got bored when I started it again a few months ago. I've finished Bloodlines (of various flavors) with all the standard clans except Nosferatu and Brujah, and I've enjoyed it each time. And I just started CE with a Nosferatu even though I finished it with a Gangrel only about a week ago.
